We are living in an age where the inflexible and radical ideologies of the left and the right have been discredited, at a time that mankind's advancement can be guaranteed only in liberal societies that are democratic and that protect the civil rights of their citizens. These societies should be against what is wrong and protect what is right. Exponents of change should strive for a humane nation or society that can find a place in the 21st century among the community of progressive nations.
In the struggle to dismantle one of the bastions of kleptocracy, dictatorship and neo-colonialism in
Africa, exponents of change need to learn to be critical and self critical; they need to judge people's mind, ideas and actions, and not base their judgments on the opposing person's ancestral origins, ethnicity, race, religion, region or country. For the detractors who have not made the psychosocial advancement into political humanitarians needed to build the New
Cameroon that is expected to play a positive role in the advancement of world civilization, it should be pointed out that a humane society is to the interest of all within its borders. We might get a better picture of what our destiny should look like if we consider our nation as a block that has to fit into a big jigsaw puzzle that is the world.
