Yellow: = Former Soviet Republics
Green: = Former Yugoslav Republics
Sky Blue: = Former Eastern European Communist Countries now in the EU.

The economies of countries from the former Soviet Union (USSR) are projected to be better performing than those of former Eastern European countries and countries from the ex-Yugoslavia, apparently because they did not allow the complete destruction of their industrial bases or because they reversed the deindustrialization of the 1990s.
